Mobile Security Risks: An IT Department Action Plan

Everybody wants the benefits of mobile computing – increased access to information, better productivity and more – but no one wants IT security to suffer as a result.

Of the more than 500 Canadian organizations that participated in the 2010 TELUS-Rotman Joint Study on Canadian IT Security, virtually all respondents across government, private and public sectors ranked the loss of a phone with corporate data as their No. 1 concern. There are also mobile malware, hackers and data loss risks to think about. And as tablets and smartphones become mission-critical business tools, it's time to be proactive and prepared.

Join IT World Canada Editor-in-Chief Shane Schick and his guests Hernan Barros, Director, Products and Services, TELUS Security Solutions and Tim Dafoe, Senior Security Policy Advisor with the Province of Ontario. Shane and Hernan will discuss how to develop a mobile security strategy and policy and promote high levels of employee buy in and compliance. Tim will discuss what security leaders can do to secure their mobile technologies and which ones they consider to be most secure. Understand the biggest challenges and concerns. Get best practice recommendations on mobile security risk management strategies. You'll walk away with recommendations on best practices based on current Canadian research data, and how to implement them in the year ahead.
